Botox for Smile & Jawline

Some concerns about a smile have nothing to do with the teeth themselves. When the upper lip lifts too high, healthy teeth can still be framed by more gum than a patient would like. When the chewing muscles grow enlarged from years of overuse, the lower face can look wider and heavier than the rest of the features.

Both come down to muscle activity rather than tooth position, and both can be addressed by temporarily relaxing the muscle responsible. At Aesthetic Smile & Implant Studio, this is treated as part of smile design — we look at how your lips, gums, teeth, and facial proportions work together before recommending anything.

Common Uses

  • Gummy Smiles. Lowers an overly active upper lip to show less gum tissue when smiling.
  • Masseter Hypertrophy. Slims an enlarged jawline caused by chronic muscle overuse.

What to Expect

Treatment begins with an assessment of your smile line, lip movement, and facial proportions. We photograph your smile at rest and in full expression, because the difference between the two determines exactly where and how much product is needed.

The appointment itself is short. The skin is cleaned and a small number of precise injections is placed with a fine needle — a brief pinch, around fifteen to twenty minutes in the chair. There is no downtime, and you can return to your day immediately.

Results build gradually. A gummy smile usually softens within three to four days. Jawline slimming works differently: the muscle reduces in size over several weeks, so the change becomes visible over a month or two and is more gradual by nature.

The effect is temporary. Lip results typically last three to four months, while jawline results often hold longer once the muscle has reduced. Treatment can be repeated to maintain the result.

Is It Right for You?

Not every gummy smile is caused by lip movement. Some are related to tooth proportion, gum position, or the way the jaw developed — and those need a different approach, such as gum contouring or restorative treatment. Part of our assessment is identifying which applies to you, because the wrong treatment will not give you the result you want.

Botox is also not suitable for everyone. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, certain neuromuscular conditions, and some medications are contraindications, so treatment always begins with a consultation and a review of your health history.
